Take Back the Wealth

Take Back the Wealth is an emerging organization of volunteers who believe that the workers of this country have been robbed, and that it's time to take back what's ours. Our strategy? Talk to other working-class people, find out what our communities are struggling with, build relationships and a base of support in working-class neighborhoods, organize people together to share their experiences and unite for working-class power that can take back the wealth that has been stolen from our labor. We organize weekly outreach sessions, where we hit the streets, knock on doors and talk to people who are pissed off about the economy, about the trillion-dollar bank bail-out, the cuts in public services, unaffordable health-care, unemployment. We don't claim to have the answers. But we do know that if we come together as workers, we will be able to build a powerful movement from below, from the communities themselves. The process of organizing starts with a simple conversation. And that's what this project does.  We need volunteers to knock on doors, and we especially need more working-class people to join up with this project!  You can call 707-338-5318, or call the Peace and Justice Center, if you'd like to volunteer. We conduct our outreach on Sundays at Noon, and occasionally on Saturdays. We meet at the Peace and Justice Center. Let us know if you can volunteer an hour or two of your time!
