Take Back the Wealth
Take Back the Wealth is an emerging organization of volunteers who believe that the workers of this country have been robbed, and that it's time to take back what's ours. Our strategy? Talk to other working-class people, find out what our communities are struggling with, build relationships and a base of support in working-class neighborhoods, organize people together to share their experiences and unite for working-class power that can take back the wealth that has been stolen from our labor. We organize weekly outreach sessions, where we hit the streets, knock on doors and talk to people who are pissed off about the economy, about the trillion-dollar bank bail-out, the cuts in public services, unaffordable health-care, unemployment. We don't claim to have the answers. But we do know that if we come together as workers, we will be able to build a powerful movement from below, from the communities themselves. The process of organizing starts with a simple conversation. And that's what this project does. We need volunteers to knock on doors, and we especially need more working-class people to join up with this project! You can call 707-338-5318, or call the Peace and Justice Center, if you'd like to volunteer. We conduct our outreach on Sundays at Noon, and occasionally on Saturdays. We meet at the Peace and Justice Center. Let us know if you can volunteer an hour or two of your time!

materials for Take Back the Wealth
I shall be interested in knocking on doors, but I need training and/or materials.
Thanks,
I agree with you...
Us workers do need to take all of our wealth back! I am sick of having 35% of my earnings confiscated by the feds in the form of an income tax. I am also tired of the state feeling entitled to another 10%. Don't even get me started on the Social Security/Medicare/SDI taxes that I unvoluntarily have to pay as well. All of this is crap. I just had my Kaiser renewed for the next fiscal year. With out an increase in services I am set to pay 13% more than I did last year thanks to Obama care. Redistributive models of health care (i.e. forcing companies to provide services at rates that the markets would not otherwise allow) defines wealth being stolen from working class. I am also sick and tired of rampant unemployment due to those thieves in government making regulations, taxes, and conditions so difficult that your average person takes the "why try?" side of the entrepreneurial spirit.
